Aston Martin has taken the wraps off its most powerful SUV yet – the DBX S. Based on the already potent DBX707, this new flagship brings more power, less weight, and sharper dynamics. With performance tech borrowed from the Valhalla supercar, the DBX S marks a bold step in Aston Martin’s ultra-luxury SUV journey.
The ‘S’ badge has long been used by Aston Martin to signify a special, high-performance version of its models. The tradition began with the Vanquish S in 2004. The DBX S follows that path, representing a leap forward in both performance and exclusivity. It’s not just a faster DBX; it’s a symbol of the brand’s ongoing focus on innovation and driving excitement.
Under the bonnet is an upgraded version of Aston Martin’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. Thanks to enhancements taken from the upcoming Valhalla supercar, including larger compressor wheels, power jumps to 717hp, up from 697hp in the DBX707.
The DBX S sprints from 0–100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 311 km/h. A reworked exhaust system adds more drama to the already thunderous V8 soundtrack.
The DBX S features a retuned 9-speed wet clutch gearbox. It delivers faster, more aggressive shifts in Sport modes and better response across the rev range. Power distribution remains flexible, up to 100% to the rear wheels when needed.
Weight-saving is another major upgrade. A new carbon fibre roof shaves 18kg, while optional 23-inch magnesium wheels remove another 19kg of unsprung mass. Further savings come from a polycarbonate grille and carbon fibre elements across the body, all aiding balance and agility.
Steering is now 4% quicker, sharpening handling and reducing the turning circle to 12.0 metres. The suspension system carries over the improvements from 2024, with revised dampers and active roll control that limits body roll to just 1.5 degrees. Massive carbon ceramic brakes ensure confident stopping power.
Visually, the Aston Martin DBX S stands apart. At the front, a bold black grille, new splitter, and wraparound DRLs signal its performance status. The side profile features aerodynamic sills, carbon mirror caps, and signature red ‘S’ badging.
The rear is even more dramatic, with quad-stacked exhausts, a redesigned diffuser, and optional carbon add-ons to trim even more weight. A new lower livery option adds a sporty finish with colour choices like Rosso Corsa Red, Trophy Silver, and Podium Green.
Inside, the DBX S gets a bespoke ‘S’ theme, highlighted by a unique herringbone stitch pattern on the seats. Alcantara trim is standard, blending with semi-aniline leather in high-contact areas. A full leather interior is also available.
Branding is prominent, with the ‘S’ stitched into the seats and embedded on the treadplates and engine plaque. An exclusive embossing and debossing technique creates detailed Aston Martin wings on the headrests.
The SUV features the brand’s latest in-house infotainment system, with modern interfaces and enhanced connectivity. Standard audio is a 14-speaker 800W system, while audiophiles can opt for a 1,600W 23-speaker system developed with Bowers & Wilkins, offering crystal-clear, immersive sound.
The DBX S will go into production soon, with deliveries set for Q4 2025. It reflects Aston Martin’s intent to push the limits of performance in the luxury SUV segment while staying true to its design heritage and engineering prowess.
The Aston Martin DBX S continues to rival the performance SUVs in this world. This includes Lamborghini Urus Performante, Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, Ferrari Purosangue and Bentley Bentayga Speed—here is the complete list of SUVs.
