DubiCars celebrates Emirati Women’s Day 2025 by shining the spotlight on Nora Al Jassasi, one of the first Emirati women rally drivers.
DubiCars celebrated Emirati Women's Day 2025 by highlighting Nora Al Jassasi, a pioneering Emirati woman rally driver. Al Jassasi, who competes in challenging races like the Dubai International Baja and the Abu Dhabi Baja Challenge, inspires other Emirati women to pursue their passions in motorsport. She transitioned from equestrian riding to motorcycles and then to rally driving after being inspired by the Dakar Rally.
Nora Al Jassasi is one of the first Emirati women in motorsport to compete at an international level. Her racing journey spans some of the region’s toughest events:
Far from just participating, she has delivered strong results, finishing ahead of her peers and setting benchmarks for future generations of Emirati women who aspire to enter motorsport. Watch the full video here to know more about her journey:
Interestingly, Nora didn’t start her career behind the wheel. She started off as an equestrian rider before discovering motorcycles, which eventually led her to witness the Dakar Rally. The world’s toughest rally ignited her passion and pushed her towards the world of rallying.
Nora said, “I saw the Dakar Rally, and I just got so hyped that I felt like I must be involved in racing and rallying. I saw myself there, and I just got involved.”
For Nora, rallying is more than just competition. It’s about embracing the UAE’s natural landscapes and conquering the unknown. She thrives in the challenge of navigating massive Abu Dhabi dunes or the unpredictable terrain of the Dubai Baja.
Her words make her passion clear: “I love off-roading. It makes me discover the terrain, the unknown. It’s never boring. There’s so much to see, so much to learn. It’s an awesome privilege to be here.”
No rally driver is complete without the right machine, and for Nora, that’s the 2023 Can-Am Maverick X3. Built for competitive off-road racing, this side-by-side is powered by a Rotax turbocharged inline-3 engine, and features advanced long-travel suspension and a lightweight frame designed for speed and stability across desert dunes and rocky rally stages.
As one of the UAE’s pioneering women rally drivers, Nora knows the impact her journey has on younger generations. She encourages Emirati girls and women across the Arab world to take the first step toward their passions.
“Get involved. Don’t judge yourself. Don’t let others judge you. Just enjoy yourself,” she says. Her story is proof that Emirati women in motorsport are leaders, competitors, and role models.
DubiCars celebrates Nora Al Jassasi and every Emirati woman who continues to push boundaries. From rally drivers to business leaders, they exemplify courage, determination, and ambition.
