Armed Standoff vs. Staff, Government Facilities Bomb Threats, Lead to Arrest of Patient at Area Hospital

Troopers from throughout the surrounding region responded to the scene and swiftly located and arrested the suspect without incident. The individual was identified as Brandon McGoye, 27, of Huntington, WV — a patient at the hospital. Investigators confirmed McGoye as the same person responsible for the earlier bomb threats.

McGoye has been charged with eight (8) counts of Terroristic Threats and seven (7) counts of False Reports of Bombs or Other Explosive Devices. He was arraigned before Lewis County Magistrate McCue, who set bond at $1,000,000 cash. McGoye is currently being held at the Central Regional Jail.

Although multiple bomb threats were alleged, the ongoing investigation has found no evidence of any actual or credible threat to public safety at this time.ble.
