Abu Dhabi Police cordoned off the Mussafah area during the fire incident on Thursday.

The Abu Dhabi Police have announced that a fire, which broke out in a commercial building in Musaffah this afternoon has been brought under control.

The authorities said on Twitter, “Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority teams have successfully controlled a fire this afternoon at a commercial building in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi. The building was evacuated and no injuries occurred. Cooling and smoke ventilation procedures are currently underway.”

The authorities earlier said, “Abu Dhabi Police and the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence teams continue to deal with a fire that broke out in a commercial building in Mussafah. No injuries have been reported.

The building was evacuated as a precautionary measures.

Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority urge the public to seek information from official sources only.

The teams managed to control the situation after extinguishing the fire and safely vacating the residents. No injuries or casualties resulted from the fire. Cooling procedures to minimise the damage are currently under way.

Abu Dhabi Police said that the Civil Defence teams have extinguished the fire that broke out in an apartment in the Al Zahiyah area.

The police said Civil Defense teams have successfully extinguished the fire in the warehouse for scrap heavy vehicles and tankers without any casualties.

The Abu Dhabi Commercial Court obligated a burned-down restaurant to pay an insurance company Dhs6,000, besides the fees and expenses of the case.

The NCM also indicated that the lowest temperature recorded in UAE was 25.8°C in Muzaira’a area in Al Dhafra region at 5:45 am, while the highest temperature recorded in the country was 49.7°C in Sweihan in Al Ain at 2:30 pm on the same day.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said on Twitter, “The 9th anniversary of the crimes committed by the Daesh terrorist group against the Yazidis and others in Iraq is a painful reminder of the importance of embracing peaceful coexistence and rejecting all forms of discrimination based on religion or sect or ethnicity.”

Authorities arrested a suspect in his 20s at the scene and were questioning him. Police did not identify the man or offer any immediate information about a potential motive. Police described the attack as "virtually an act of terrorism.”
