First Responders Quickly Douse Area Structure Fire

According to the River Road Volunteer Fire Department in Monongalia County, on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, around 11 p.m, the department, in coordination with mutual aid units, responded to a reported structure fire in the 4000 block of Fairmont Road.

Upon initial arrival of responders, an abandoned trailer structure was found with heavy fire involvement, extending to the rear portion of the property. Firefighters worked to bring the fire under control and extinguished remaining hot spots.

The structure was determined to be in poor condition at the time of the response. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
