Heavy rains expected to come through parts of Central Arkansas on Thursday are expected to impact the commute for some drivers.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A Weather Impact Alert is in effect from early on Thursday, August 28, through the evening hours due to the likelihood of heavy rain impacting rush hour.
A complex of showers and thunderstorms is expected to impact Arkansas on Thursday. Heavy rain, along with minor flooding, is possible, which may complicate your afternoon and evening commute.
Forecast models differ in the exact timing and placement of when and where storms will occur.
However, given past forecast guidance, it is likely that a good part of the Little Rock metro area will see rain around the afternoon and evening rush, disrupting the flow of traffic.
Remember to slow down and be extra cautious, especially around school zones.
Anywhere that ponding occurs on the roadways, hydroplaning will be possible. So be sure to watch out for your surroundings.
