ARKANSAS, USA — Baptist Health has launched a new app aimed at supporting women throughout every stage of motherhood, from pregnancy to delivery and beyond.
The Hello Pregnancy app, which debuted last month, offers personalized education, wellness tracking, and real-time access to a registered nurse seven days a week.
Designed to be simple and user-friendly, the app connects with MyChart, allowing expectant mothers to monitor their health and access support from home.
“Arkansas has some of the highest maternal mortality rates, and so we thought everybody has a smartphone, so why not put that help right in the hands of mothers?” Destiney Walker, director of business operations for patient navigation at Baptist Health, said. “Being a new mom is scary, not knowing how to navigate pregnancy is scary. So we want to make sure that these moms feel safe and that they feel supported throughout their journey.”
Walker said users do not have to be registered Baptist Health patients in order to utilize the functions of the app. She added that despite launching just last month, Baptist Health is already seeing positive responses from users.
“The numbers are skyrocketing,” Walker said. “We are definitely seeing more users, and then we are seeing a lot of users join the nurse chat, and so when they join maybe two or three times a month, that shows trust. They are trusting the nurse’s advice.”
Walker added that the app isn’t the only way Baptist Health is working to address maternity in the state.
She said Baptist Health supports women through pregnancy by operating a dedicated Pregnancy Clinic that serves all expectant mothers, regardless of their ability to pay.
The clinic has on-site community health workers who assist moms with signing up for Medicaid and navigating presumptive eligibility to ensure immediate access to care.
The Hello Pregnancy app is now available for download on the Apple Store and Google Play.
