Human remains found near Lake Ashbaugh in Greene Co.

GREENE COUNTY, Ark. — Update: The remains were confirmed to be Jessica Paige Kemp, a missing Paragould woman last seen on May 5.

On Tuesday, June 10 at approximately 1:45 p.m., a detective from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and a civilian search party member were searching an area southwest of Lake Ashbaugh. 

Officials state that the detective and search party member encountered a strong smell associated with decomposition. After searching the area, the detective and search party member located skeletal remains in an advanced state of decomposition. 

The Greene County Coroner’s Office will send the remains to the Arkansas State Crime Lab where they will examine and identify the remains. 

Agents from the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) are assisting with the investigation.
