According to a national Web site, West Virginia is the 14th-best state to spot a UFO, with 17.40 sightings per 1 million residents each year.

One of the most famous UFO sightings in West Virginia was the Flatwoods Monster sighting in 1952, where a group of people in Flatwoods reported seeing a bright light and a large non-human creature near the site.

Flatwoods is located in Braxton County. It is a quick trip of roughly an hour to Flatwoods and Sutton.

The same study done by the Web site, Vermont is the best state for a UFO sighting, with 33 sightings per 1 million residents each year. New Hampshire was listed second.

The worst state was Texas in the No. 50 spot.

The next worst state was Louisiana.
