Isle of Wight sex offender failed to register Xbox account

AN ISLE of Wight sex offender who failed to register a number of online accounts and devices with police, including an Xbox gamertag, could face jail later this year.

Reece Guerin, of Swan Street, Newport, appeared before a judge at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Tuesday (September 12).

At a previous hearing in May, the 27-year-old denied three counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order, and two counts of failing to comply with the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders’ Register.

The charges relate to dates between February 12 and April 7.

He went on to change his plea, and the court heard how Guerin failed to register a number of items and online accounts, including an Xbox gamertag and console, passport, Instagram and KIK accounts, and two USB sticks.

Among the accounts he failed to register was an online username called RuntyLamb69.

Guerin – who moved to the Isle of Wight from Reading last year – saw his case adjourned so the Crown Prosecution Service could enquire as to whether he was in breach of an existing order.

Guerin will next appear in court on October 24, and was granted unconditional bail until that date.
