People across the country and in Arkansas are gearing up to celebrate Juneteenth, the monumental day that marked the freedom of enslaved people in the U.S.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On June 19, Americans across the country will celebrate Juneteenth, the holiday that marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in the U.S. learned they were finally free.
