LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — For the first time since 2011, and just the second time ever, Little Rock baseball is headed to the NCAA tournament.
The Trojans took down Eastern Illinois 2-1 Saturday to win the OVC tournament and claim the league’s auto-bid to a NCAA Regional.
It was a wild run for Little Rock, who snuck in to the conference tournament as the 8-seed, but proceeded to win five straight games over the last four days to win the title.
Joe T. Robinson alum Jack Cline threw a complete game in the championship, allowing just one run.
It’s the first OVC tournament title for Little Rock, who won the conference regular season title last year.
Now, Little Rock waits until Monday to find out where they will be sent for a NCAA Regional.
