Richard graduated from Fairview High School, Class of 1979. He was proud to have served in the Army and National Guard. He was a member of the Farmington Fire Department always eager to help when he could. He was a truck driver for many years traveling through many states. Richard was an active member of the 304 Jeep Club always sharing stories with other Jeep enthusiast. He loved his family more than anything, spending time with his grandchildren was his greatest joy.
In addition to his mother and wife, Richard is survived by two children, Angela Moore Cline and Richard Moore II; seven grandchildren, Owen Smith, Shyanne Smith, Savannah Moore, Jaxen Moore, Autumn Moore, Aleigh Moore and Ryleigh Moore; father in-law, Philip Brown; brother in-law, Philip Keith Brown (Kim); sister in-law, Jennifer Brown Poling (Gary); special nieces and nephews, Justine Brown, Whitney Poling Dillon (Cody), Sarah Brown, Ashnee Patel, Laken Dillon, Paisley Dillon, Brandy Miller, Melissa Schiffbauer, Andrew Schiffbauer and Joseph Hess; many cousins and friends.
In addition to his father, Richard is preceded in death by one son, Joshua Allen Moore; grandparents, Ralph and Edith Moore, and Leslie and Ethel Mahaney; sister, Cindy L. Moore Phillips; mother in-law, Dottie Lou Brown; a special nephew, Connor Douglas Poling.
The family would like to thank West Virginia Caring Hospice and Grafton City Hospital for the extraordinary care they gave Richard and the Taylor County Healthcare Center for their love and support.
Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Thursday May 22, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday May 23, 2025 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Austin Lynch officiating. Interment will follow at the Haymond Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the US Army Camp Dawson Honor Guard and the Taylor County Honor Guard.
