Noah Hernandez Perez died last weekend after a driver struck him near Artesia Boulevard and Rose Avenue.

The Long Beach Police Department said a man was heading westbound on Artesia Boulevard when he hit Noah.

The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police said speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to have contributed to the collision.

According to a GoFundMe created for Noah’s family, the incident was an accident.

The boy was described as “loving” and “full of energy.”

“Together, we will fulfill our duty and help with the funeral expenses so that our Noah can say his final goodbyes and rest in peace like the little angel he is,” read the GoFundMe‘s description, which was written in Spanish.

The incident remains under investigation.
