When police reportedly arrived on the scene in Taylor on June 15, they found two people dead with apparent gunshot wounds.
TAYLOR, Arizona — Two people are dead after a shooting at a home in Taylor, Arizona, officials said.
According to the Snowflake-Taylor Police Department, officers responded to a welfare check on June 15 around 7 p.m. The check was at a home near Center and Main streets.
Police identified the people as Cynthia and Troy Templeton.
When police reportedly arrived on scene, they found two people dead with apparent gunshot wounds, police said. A third person was also found in the house but they were uninjured.
Police identified Cynthia Templeton’s son Francis Chavez as suspect in the shooting and a a nation-wide stop and hold alert was issued for him.
On June 17, the Concordia Missouri police department entered into a pursuit with Chavez and his vehicle but ended up losing site of him during the pursuit.
Then later in the evening, Missouri state troopers found the vehicle and another pursuit ensued.
The vehicle was eventually stopped and Chavez ran away with troopers following, police said
“Troopers gave chase on foot at which time Francis, armed with a handgun, shot at one of the troopers, striking him in the bullet-resistant vest, troopers returned fire, striking Francis,” Snowflake PD said.
Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene
Authorities are investigating what may have led up to the shooting, but currently have no information on what happened. The victims have been identified as Troy Templeton, 62, and Cynthia Templeton, 53. Both are from Taylor.
