New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates team will lock horns with each other in the third and final T20I of the 3-match T20I series on 20th August at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. New Zealand won the first T20I by 19 runs but they were stunned by UAE in the second T20I as they scripted history by chasing 142 runs with 7 wickets to spare and leveled the series 1-1.
In the second T20I, New Zealand batted first and posted a respectful score of 142 on the back of brilliant innings by Mark Chapman. Except for Chapman, none of the Kiwi batters really got going. The 17-year-old Aayan Khan was the star with the ball for the hosts as he picked 3 key wickets.
In reply, United Arab Emirates lost their in-form opener Aryansh Sharma in the very first over but their experienced campaigner Waseem Muhammad stitched crucial partnerships with Aravind and Asif Khan and scored a brilliant half-century.
Waseem was dismissed by Santner in the 11th over with UAE still requiring 43 runs but Asif Khan remained cool at the other end and smashed a few boundaries to take his team over the line. With this UAE scripted history by defeating New Zealand for the very first time.
We can expect a cracking game between these two sides in the series decider.
The Dubai International Cricket Stadium is a bit two-paced wicket and is expected to aid the bowlers once again here. The Pacers might get some help upfront with the new ball.
The average first-innings score on this wicket is 135 runs.
The team batting second doesn’t enjoy good records here. They have a winning percentage of 25 on this track.
