Jaecoo J7 Showcased For The First Time In The UAE: Here Are All The Details

Chinese car manufacturer, Omoda & Jaecoo has showcased the new J7 mid-size luxury SUV for the first time in the UAE. The showcased event was held at the Meliá Desert Palm in Dubai.

In addition to unveiling the J7, the brand also presented the Omoda C5, which recently debuted in the UAE. Attendees were treated to a brief test drive of both the C5 and the J7. We’ll be providing a comprehensive review of each SUV soon. 

At launch, the Chinese luxury mid-size SUV will be offered in three variants: 

A single 1.6L turbo-petrol engine and a 7-speed DCT gearbox combination power the new J7. Here are the performance figures:

The Jaecoo J7’s exterior silhouette would look similar to the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max, that is because the J7 is based on the Chery SUV. Up-front the large vertical-slat grille sits prominently connecting the DRLs on either side. Main headlamps are placed on the bumper following the current SUV design trend.

On the side, a boxy design with contoured wheel arches gives the J7 a muscular and off-road-ready stance. At the rear, a large LED lightbar connects sleek taillamps on either side giving it a premium appeal

Although based on the Tiggo 7 Pro Max, Jaecoo has loaded the J7 with premium luxury inside and out. It becomes evident when you step inside the J7’s cabin decked in leatherette material and soft-touch plastic.  

Seats are well-cushioned, power-operated and ventilated to provide maximum comfort. The large panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting enhance the overall experience. 

The Jaecoo J7 has a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 14.8-inch vertically-oriented infotainment display. Other features include:

The Jaecoo J7 will be positioned in the premium mid-size SUV segment. The SUV comes with a whole host of features to make it stand out in the segment. The J7 rivals the Nissan X-Trail, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, and Toyota RAV4; among others in the UAE.
