Lucid Air Showcased At EVIS 2024:Local Production To Begin Soon

At the 2024 Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS) held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), American luxury EV manufacturer, Lucid Motors, presented more than just a reiteration of their Air sedan. The company formally unveiled the Grand Touring variant, the penultimate iteration within the Air lineup. 

Earlier in 2024, Lucid launched the Air in Saudi Arabia and announced plans for local assembly. These sedans will be built to meet the specifications of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), ensuring compliance across the Middle East.

In a conversation with DubiCars at EVIS 2024, Lucid mentioned the upcoming opening of its new showroom at City Walk in Dubai. This suggests an imminent launch of the Lucid Air in the UAE market.

The electric sedan is offered in four variants: 

The Lucid Air takes inspiration from aircraft design, evident in its clean lines and subtle creases. This focus on aerodynamics creates a slippery profile. The headlights connect with sleek DRLs that stretch across the front, visually widening the stance of the sedan. This design element is mirrored at the rear with the taillights, creating a cohesive look.

The Lucid Air has a spacious cabin that can comfortably seat five adults. Interiors are decked in high-quality materials like leather and wood. The massive glass roof option fills the cabin with natural light and enhances the feeling of airiness. 

The Lucid Air incorporates ample storage throughout the cabin, including large door pockets, a hidden compartment behind the Pilot Panel, and a sizable centre console bin with cupholders.

The 34-inch 5K curved display on the dashboard is split into three sections: a settings panel, the instrument cluster, and an infotainment system. Other features highlights include:

Luxury cars have a special place in the UAE, and we expect the same reception for the Lucid Air. The electric sedan is packed with impressive performance, range, and a tech-loaded cabin, making it highly desirable amongst its rivals: Tesla Model S, Porsche Taycan, Mercedes-Benz EQS, Audi e-tron GT, and BMW i7.

In addition to the exciting electric vehicle debuts at EVIS 2024, the UAE government unveiled a significant development for the country’s EV infrastructure: the UAEV charging network.
